After a huge win, the gulls travelled 60 Km to a place which for some reason is still called the sutherland shire. the day started badly when players arrived looking at an empty field, no opposition, lines, posts or even nets. The game finally began and we looked as if we were in for a chance. passing, defending and the talk was perfect. An unlucky own goal, followed up by yet another own goal, began to drop the head of the girls. our attack continued to push but it was obvious it wasnt our day. A few false calls by the referee, turned the game into an aggressive (bitchy) game. Apart from the few issues raised by the ref, our girls kept pushing for those girls but it was the oppositon who walked away with the win.
Kristy was outstanding in goals, and i think both parents and players would agree. Having never played keeper before, kristy read the game perfectly stopping all she could. The goals against us were impossible to save, therefore kristy has been awardrd man of the match for today.
Thanks to Britt who sat out for the game. Things were said today that should not have been said, but its in the past now, and only being early on in the season, the seagulls still have alot to prove. its not over yet.
Next week, we take on seagulls at home. lets keep our record at woolooware.
