Cronulla Seagulls have lifted their game and proven to the competition that they are in contention for the chapionship of 2010. A win today meant the gulls would move further up the table and further away from those below them, including Menai Hawks.
It was a game with hundreds of shots and oppotunities but only 2 of them, being put neatly into the back of the net. it was a quiet game for kristy first half, with no sort of action, but she then changed with britt who to played amazing in keeper. Kristy came onto the field playing well wit lovely attacking plays and defending. shelly like always, razzled her way through the opponants with an unlucky strike (close to 40 yards) bouncing of the crossbar. Aimee had a few attempts that were also unfortunate, with a few just flying above the goal or just wide. Bec nearly finished a beautiful goal with a cross from ash, heading it down but then just bouncing over the bar again.
Miku played well yet again, with lovely though balls and unlucky strikes on goals. Sarah was the first to score for the gulls, after receiving a great ball from ash, she was able to place the ball neatly to the right side of the keeper, putting Cronulla up by 1.
Kristina nearly scored her first goal of the season with her ball hitting the post, while her sister sofia played well in centre mid, creating opptunities for the team.
Little Beth, proved to the coach that she is a striker after striking a brilliant goal and finishsing it with a solid celebation.
Britt fought hard and was first to the ball at all times. Nicole, Anya and helen had their best games of the season, fighting hard in the defence keeping the goals against at zero. Anya was given man of the match after her dedication in defence and her one on one fights. her clearances were amazing, and today she was just an overall reliable defender. well done!!
Girls 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. lets keep it up. we are definantly the team to watch out for.
