Devoed!!

The girls entered the game a little too relaxed today, but who can blame them after an 8 nil win last week. With Bonnet Bay playing with 10, a 2 nil loss was definantly unexpected.

The team started well with a number of attacks and shots at goal. Kristina came close, while shelly's long range hits went just wide. After 15 minutes, the game turned as Bonnet Bay's first oppotunity at goal ended up in the back of the net. Seagulls players became frustrated and began to blame each other, which then resulted in yet another goal. 2 nil down, and changes were needed. Sofia was put in CM, CB and RB, which has been an issue as we have a full bench. What the team has to remember is, there is not one player who is better than another. Your a team, and just because a player is good, does not mean they get more time than everyone else. everyone has the same amount of time on the pitch and thats the way it will happen for the rest of the year.

Beth's puffer allowed her to play the way she can, and continue those aggressive runs up field, while Sarah as always threatened the keeper with her intense attacks and unfortunate attempts on goal. After yet another big night, Britt played exceptional, showing great aggression on the wing, winning every one on one, and running back to help in defence. Although Bec is probably the least happiest after losing to her X team, her impact in both mid and defence was incredible. Nicole nearly had her first goal of the season after a cracking hit, which unfortuantly deflected of a defender, and going wide. Aimee proved that she is one of the quickest girls in the team, and wow, can she throw a ball. Helen came to the game not in the greatest of moods but was able to use that aggression on the oposition when needed. Anya yet again showed the team how solid she is in defence, with a number of heavey tackles and quick clearances. Viktoria again played well in her sweeper position, making sure the ball stayed away from Kristy as much as possible. Kristy, none of the goals were your fault, in fact, they were just well placed.

Man of the Match was a hard pick, today it was between shelly, miku, and Ash. However there can only be one, so today it would be given to Miku. for the first time, i have heard her open her mouth and pump the team up. When the ball was at her feet she was able to beat her defender and when lost, it was imediately retrieved. Like many, Miku came close to scoring for the gulls but it was wasnt meant to be.

Girls, its been 7 weeks now, and we have not had the full team on time for training before the game. It's up to you on what you do saturday night, but its unfair on the players who attend the warm up and sit on the bench at the start of the game. From now on, players who are late without a fair enough excuse will start on the bench. Its time to put in a bit more effort including training. Aimee's dad ian, may be attending training sessions from now on to make sure everyone is listening and doing what the are told. so here is your warning.

On the brighter side, the reason myself and parents are starting to push you harder and take it a bit more serious, is because we all know that you guys have such a good chance of winning this thing. But we cant do it if we have to groups of friends in the team. Everyone needs to start working together and treating each other in a positive way, because doing this will effect how everyone will play.
