Seagulls bomb Bonnet bay Out of the season
Cronulla Seagulls have ended the season of the third placed bonnet bay bombers after a 3 - 2 victory in the country of Menai today.
Coming into the game, Bonnet Bay had been the only team, Cronulla was yet to beat. However with this being said, the time to beat them couldnt have been at a better time than today.
Definantly not the start any coach would like to see, with a few girls including our goalkeeper Running late for the starting whistle. The girls were able to get their positions together and focus on the game ahead.
The weather was perfect, and the crowd grew by the minute. The seagulls communicated better than ever. With confidence and positive talk, the girls were able to play as a team and help each other to scoring that first goal by superstar ashleigh. A great lead up with a few stylish passes my kristina, and shelly, forced a lovely touch by ash, who was able to curl the ball sky high placing it behind the stunned Bonnet Bay keeper. The girls continued to push as they knew a draw meant a loss.
Our defence remained strong for most of the game. Ash continued to put deathly corners in for the Bombers and a goal soon came from one. A mix up in the box and an easy tap in from sarah gave the gulls a bit of breathing space with a 2 nil lead.
The game was looking good and a stressed, losing voiced coach was able to relax for a few minutes. It was not long that the stress returned after the bay's striker beat our defenders in a foot race to make the score 2 - 1
The parents and players, from the other game heard the voice of our quiet anya today, who was definantly getting into the game. Great defending from Anya and helen kept our left side stable, and our goals against second best in the league still. Nicole yet again proved although she is heaps lazy when she feels like it she can run like usain bolt.
Shelly and Miku did what they do best controlling the midfield, while our newest midfield kristy did what she could to stop their speedy wingers down the sideline. Aimee as always had a great impact on the game with thratening runs and close range shots, as Beth proved she is the fastest in the competition.
Sofia remained strong in the defence with a few stylish (show off) flick backs tricking the attackers of the Bombers.
Britt remained calm through out the game with only 1 or 2 late reaction runs. Her long range goal kicks shocked alot of the crowd including the opposition.
Finally, Viktoria. Today was the day, coach healey was most proud of this girl. with positive talk, and determination, vik was able to lead her defence in strong, powerful, but at the same time, LEGAL tackles.
With this being said, it is quite clear, and everyone in cronulla knows it, if everyone talks, compliments each other, and remains confident throughout the game, The seagulls will have an oppotunity to verse heathcote in the grand final.
p.s Bec was able to leave happily after beating her most hated team, and watching her x team also lose to bosco on the other field. what a day for Bec
well done girls!!!!
Next week, grand final decider....

Coach Misses round 18 and final training
Coach Healey will miss Cronulla's upcoming game with Gymea and the following training session before the first semi final. Jacob announced his departure the previous week, with matt, (miku's dad) putting his hand up to take control of the team. I believe Matt is capable of handling the girls quite well, he has trained them before and there were no complaints.
A few girls werent to happy about the holiday event of their coach, saying things like, "your dog mate, we dont need you anyway" (shelly).
lol
Coach Healey remains confident that his team will push through the final stages and beat whoever they come across in the grand final.

Seagulls look the biggest threat
Cronulla seagulls have yet again put a large amount of goals into their opponants net. With 16 goals and only 1 against in the past 2 weeks, it can most definantly be said, that the girls from cronulla are looking dangerous. with in the first 10 minutes, star striker, Aimee, was able to turn and shoot, putting the ball deep into the left hand corner of the goal keeper.
The girls continued to put pressure on their opponants and it was not long after until aimee scored her second of the game after a great run, and a second attempt after a keepers fumble. The defence stood still most the game, with not much happening. But when the ball did somehow break our midfield, our defence had no problems in cleaning up the attack. Nicole did some brilliant running back while Sofia and vik did their normal daily thing by staying strong and defending as a unit.
Our right side of the field looked dangerous all game with Kristina taking blistering runs passing the ball through the defence with central midfielder miku. With this being said, our 3rd goal came from the left side of the field, shelly took a shot, which i think was either a) a cross or b) just a massive fluke. anyway she scored. :)
Ash rocked up a tad late but her reason was fairly acceptable. "i couldnt get out of my driveway because a bunch of fat sweaty people were trying to run 11 km in that stupid sutherland to surf thingy". Ash made an immediate impact on the game when her crosses flew at pace worrying the defence, which soon contributed to becs first goal of the game. (what a boring celebration)
The game started to get a little out of control towards the end of the game, and we were lucky the ref forgot his cards. girls we really need to relax especially with the semi finals only 2 weeks away.
Bec scored 3 i think, ? shelly scored 1, who else scored, let me know so i can finish the report. :)
To end this report, Anya was todays star player with exceptional clearances and reliable defending. Obviously that training session you attended Anya had a great impact on the way you performed:)
Good game girls! With this form, we can easily take the championship.
